While we don't oppose weight loss, our platform intentionally avoids discussions about it, as there are numerous outlets dedicated to such topics. Instead, we maintain a body-neutral stance, focusing on diverse aspects of well-being beyond weight. Additionally, we may address sensitive topics such as signs of disordered eating in a supportive and informative manner.

  • Are all of the stories generated from the community?

No, not all of the stories on Running Fat Chef are solely generated from the community. They come from a blend of contributions from our diverse community members, the founder, as well as input from fitness professionals and experts. This collaborative approach ensures a rich tapestry of perspectives and experiences that enrich our platform.

  • Why is diet talk frowned on in the Running Fat Chef community?

Diet talk is frowned upon in the Running Fat Chef community because it often perpetuates harmful attitudes towards food and body image. Instead of promoting restrictive eating or focusing solely on weight loss, we prioritize nourishment, enjoyment of food, and overall well-being. Diet talk can trigger negative emotions and behaviors, detracting from our mission of inclusivity, empowerment, and celebrating diverse bodies and journeys within the community.

No, this is a peer platform where we amplify stories within the community. There will be times when we will talk to accredited institutions, licensed medical professionals, and fitness experts but we do not hold certification courses at this time.

  • Is this a not-for-profit organization?

While we intend to establish a not-for-profit organization in the future, the current entity is a limited liability company established by Latoya Shauntay Snell.

  • What are your plans for the future development and growth of Running Fat Chef and how do you envision the website evolving over time?

Our plans for the future development and growth of Running Fat Chef revolve around expanding our community outreach, enhancing our content offerings, and fostering deeper connections among our members. • Isn't "fat" a bad word? Aren't you worried that you'll offend visitors?

We believe that "fat" is not a bad word because it's simply a descriptive term, much like "thin" or "tall." Fat doesn't define your worth or character. Embracing the word "fat" allowed the founder, Latoya Shauntay Snell, to reclaim it from negative connotations and promote body positivity, neutrality and acceptance for all shapes and sizes. We respect if this word doesn’t resonate with you, but we use this term merely as a descriptor.

  • Are you selling products, digital courses or plan to host any events offline?

At this time, Running Fat Chef primarily focuses on providing online content and building community engagement through our website and social media platforms. We are currently in the process of developing digital courses and creating products. We aspire to host offline events that align with our mission of inclusivity and empowerment, providing opportunities for in-person connections and meaningful experiences for our community members. In the meantime, here’s ways you can support and amplify us to keep this platform at little to no cost.
